On 27/09/2017, the date when GreenClub formed by more than 15 members, and now volunteers in Environment protection and  fighting against Climate change we are gathered.

Which is a youth club to the environment protection and action to the climate change, which was formed by Former youth volunteers mostly from Kigali City Market site in Rwanda.



They sets lots of Programs with different projections as we are going to look at one of them;

#plantingonly1treeonmybirthday, is a campaign started by youth in GreenClub in days passed to continue their ways of creating awareness in Family, children and adults by finding them where they are, either by their home or else where celebrating mostly during Birthday parties.

22/07/2023/ Alliane and Erneste shares the same date of Birth, at Giheke Village, Kagugu Cell, Kinyinya sector, Gasabo District which is in Kigali city, This was the next stop of GreenClub.



Evening time before proceeding with the set of days program, representatives of GreenClub took time and explain what is Environment, how to protect environment and how to do so.

Seemingly, family members were interested to hear, at the end tow plants of fruitful trees were planted.

WHERE CAKE MEETS AVOCADO!

Everyday is someone's date of birth and many people shares these days across the world, when these people took a task to plant at least a tree on their days, more than 16 billions of trees could be added to the forests and existing trees, which can increase the production of a fresh air to breath, and the GreenClub's tagline is #letmebreathe.

particularly in Rwanda, GreenClub is expecting to plant more than 26 millions of trees in four (4) years of implementation.



This An amazing idea of creating a great campaign like this, came as they were discussing about how many trees each of them has planted so far willingly compared to his or her years.

Later, they find that, they are going to teach every one to do something like planting a tree on his or her birthdays from their families and from their  close friends first. As a reminder, the first practice of this campaign was on 19 may 2023 for VANESSA in GITEGA Sector Nyarugenge Destrict Kigali Rwanda.

During their work in #plantingonly1treeonmybirthday, BEFORE CAKE a VOCADO pre-mature tree is planted, this is where CAKE MEETS AVOCADO



This campaign is focused on environment but also for healthy personnel, that's why fruitful trees are used as they are easy to care about, trees like Avocado tree, mango tree and Guavas are used mostly in this campaign.

Talking to IMANISHIMWE Samuel the Secretary and operation officer of GreenClub, said ''we are trying our best and our target is to make people understand their roles in Environmental protection, planting trees is a seasonal action but, when comes to something done from home, we hope it is cared. that's why we practice what we have started no matter what."

One of members Robert talking to hafipoints, said that, celebrating with brothers and sisters makes more than a friendship but also sharing about environment.



ALL support needed to these young initiators from all authorities must be done by private sector and government institutions.
